Intermediate Stained Glass Box - 2-Week Class - October 2026

Instructor: Jim Berry
Duration: 2-Weeks
Held On: Tuesday Evenings
Dates: October 20th and October 27th, 2026
Time: 5:30PM - 7:30PM

This skill-building class is an introduction to 3D stained glass construction through building a traditional stained glass box. Designed for students with previous copper foil experience, whether you’ve made one panel or 150, you’ll take the skills you already know and learn how to push them into an entirely new dimension! The techniques you learn will give you a foundation for tackling all kinds of future 3D projects, from kaleidoscopes and terrariums to lamps and beyond.

Your instructor, Jim, will walk you through the process from your initial blank pattern and creating a simple design for your box lid, to building, soldering, adding hinges, and finishing accessories. We’ll focus on the techniques that make 3D construction successful, including accurate fitting, working with corners and angles, using a right-angle jig, and soldering upright pieces.

Students can get creative with their box using colorful art glass, bevels, mirror, and more. Please keep in mind that designs will need to remain fairly simple due to the limited class time.

Students will bring their own tools and materials and should select their glass before class. This is an introductory 3D class using copper foil techniques and 60/40 solder.

Since this is a 2-week class, please ensure you’re available both nights of the class (make-up classes may not be available for missed classes). Please review our class cancellation policy HERE.

Please note: It is advised not to do stained glass while you are pregnant.

Age Requirement: 16 and up - students under 18 must have written consent from a parent or guardian.
