Fused Glass - Seasonal Kiln Carving - October 15th

Enjoy some spooky season carving without any of the mess! Join us for this fun seasonal session of our Kiln Carving workshop!

Whether you're a beginner, or an experienced fuser, this is a fun class for learning how glass behaves in a kiln. Carve your own design from ceramic fiber paper which is placed under 2 layers of transparent Bullseye glass, one layer will be a glass color of your choosing topped with a layer of clear!

When taken to a very high temperature in the kiln, the glass will drape across your design, leaving an embossed image of the design on the glass.  Using hangers fused between the layers of glass, you can thread beads on some wire and hang in your window!

Students are encouraged to create their own design, but we will have some seasonally-inspired patterns available as well! Each student will be emailed a template ahead of time to sketch out ideas, as that is sometimes helpful for those who like to plan ahead.

No experience necessary and all materials are provided! *Please note, you will not learn to cut glass in this class, as we'll have pre-cut tiles ready for this project. 

After your project is fired in the kiln, we'll give you a call so you can pick it up and add optional bead embellishments. 

Age Requirement: A parent or guardian must accompany participants between the ages of 11 and 18 years old. Children under 11 are not permitted in the fusing area.

Important: Closed-toe shoes are required for participation in all classes. NO SANDALS! Participants may be asked to sign a Release and Waiver of Liability upon arrival.
