Fused Glass Frit Casting - March 18th

In this 2 hour class, you will learn how to cast fused glass shapes by filling molds with crushed glass called “frit." Many molds will be available for you to choose from including many different jewelry pendant shapes and other fun ones. The finished pieces can then be later made into jewelry, or sun catchers, or can be tack-fired onto a fully fused piece. You will have time to make 2-3 pieces, and will have many colors of frit to choose from.

If you have a kiln casting mold you would like to bring, you are welcome to do so! All outside kiln casting molds are required to be already treated with boron nitrate spray, we will not be treating molds brought in by students.

Since students will be handling glass powder, an N95 mask or equivalent will be required. If you do not have a personal mask, we will have some available to purchase in the shop at the time of your class.

No experience necessary and all materials (except for masks) provided!

Since this project must be fused in the kiln, you will be picking up your projects at a later date after they have been fired in our kilns. We will email or call students when they're ready to pick up!

Age Requirement: A parent or guardian must accompany participants between the ages of 11 and 18 years old. Children under 11 are not permitted in the fusing area.

Important: Closed-toe shoes are required for participation in all classes. NO SANDALS! Participants may be asked to sign a Release and Waiver of Liability upon arrival.
