Copper Foil Fast Track Using Copper Patina - 5-Week Class - March 2026

Have you been wanting to master that perfect copper patina on your stained glass projects? Or have you completed our 6 week lead class and are ready to transition into copper foil? This 5 week intermediate level course is designed to help you strengthen your existing skills and deepen your understanding of techniques such as precise glass cutting, clean soldering, and that ever mysterious copper patina process.
This is not a beginner class. Students must already have cutting experience and have completed an 8 x 8 inch panel (or something close in size) using either lead or copper foil. Because this course is condensed and focuses on the differences between lead and foil technique, some work outside of class will be necessary.
You will create a small copper foil panel from a curated selection of “Fast track” friendly patterns, allowing you to build confidence while refining your craftsmanship. By the end of this class, you  will solder, finish, and complete your piece with a beautiful copper patina.

IMPORTANT!
Before the first class, students are required to visit Blue Moon to select their pattern and purchase glass for their project. Please bring your glass, chosen pattern, and your glass cutting tools to the first class session.
If you prefer to use your own pattern, it must contain a maximum of 15 pieces, be no larger than 8 x 10 inches, and be a framable shape such as a rectangle, square, round, or oval. All outside patterns must be approved by a Blue Moon instructor prior to the first class. You are welcome to email us your pattern idea for approval in advance.

Since this is a 5-week class, please ensure you’re available each night of the class (make-up class fees may be incurred for missed classes). Please review our class cancellation policy here. 

Please note: It is advised not to do stained glass while you are pregnant.

Age Requirement: 16 and up - students under 18 must have written consent from a parent or guardian. 

Important: Closed-toe shoes are required for participation in all classes. Participants may be asked to sign a Release and Waiver of Liability upon arrival.
